JavaScript disabled / Incompatible browser settings

Symptoms:
When you click on the dashboard installation URL, this browser message appears:
“Sorry, your browser or browser settings are incompatible.  If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, your JavaScript option is currently disabled. In order to attend this event, this option must be enabled.”

Cause of problem:
The browser’s security and/or privacy settings are incompatible with the survey event.

Solution:

  • Check internet security and privacy settings:

    • Internet Explorer security settings:
      To check your browsers security settings, in your browser’s menu bar, click on Tools. In the Tools menu, choose Internet Options. In the Internet Options window that appears,  click on the Security tab. Make sure that the globe icon at the far left title Internet is highlighted. In the Security level for this zone section of the window, check whether the security level is set to Medium. If not, click on the Default level button.

    • Internet Explorer privacy settings:
      In the Internet Options window, click on the Privacy tab. If privacy is not set to Medium, click on the Default level button.

    • AOL or MSN browsers’ security: Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel. Choose Internet Options. In the Internet Options window that opens, click on the Security tab. Make sure that the globe icon at the far left titled Internet is highlighted. If the security level is not set to Medium, click the Default level button.

    • AOL or MSN browsers privacy: If you have a Privacy tab, click on it. If it is not set to Medium, click the Default level button.

  • Retry:
    Press the Retry button at the bottom of the error page and continue the login process.
