Cookies are blocked or browser settings are incompatible

Symptoms
The following message appears during login:
“Cookies are blocked or browser settings are incompatible”

Cause of problem
The browser's privacy settings are incompatible with the session.

Solution
Adjust the browser’s privacy setting, then press the Retry button at the bottom of the error page and continue the login process.
To adjust the browser’s privacy settings, perform one of the following procedures, depending on the browser you are using:

in Internet Explorer

  • From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
  • In the Internet Options window, click on the Privacy tab. If privacy is not set to Medium, click on the Default levelbutton. The privacy settings will be set to Medium.

  • In Firefox

  • Windows: From the Tools menu, select the Options option.
  • Mac OS X: From the Firefox menu, select the Preferences option.
  • In the window that opens, select the Privacy tab.
  • In the History section, select Use custom settings for history from the drop-down.
  • Check the checkboxes Accept cookies from site and Accept third-party cookies.

  • In Chrome

  • From the Customize and Control menu, select the Options option.
  • In the window that opens, click on the Under the Hood tab.
  • In the Privacy section, click on the Content Settings button.
  • In the window that opens, select the Cookies option, and select Allow local data to be set. Make sure the option Block all third-party cookies is not selected.

  • In Safari

  • Windows: From the Edit menu, select the Preferences option.
  • Mac OS X: From the Firefox menu, select the Preferences option.
  • In the window that opens, click on the Security tab.
  • In the Accept cookies section, select Always.
